We gather here, O God,
To hear Your living Word;
Penetrate our deepest thoughts
And let our hearts be stirred.
Prepare our minds and ears
With true humility;
Cause our eyes to see the Christ,
Our hearts to love Him more.

Teach us Your truth,
Show us Your love,
Impress Your holiness on us.
We seek to grow in grace,
To turn from sin and see the cross;
Convict us with Your holy Word
And stir our hearts (with Your Word).

But stir us then to do;

To learn to fear you more.
Lord, grow Your fruit in us,
Your patience, kindness, joy;
Teach us to forgive and love,
As we, Your Word, employ.
