Description
Portrait of the Evening Sky is a musical depiction of a sunset. It uses a somewhat uncommon handbell technique of suspended mallet rolls in conjunction with choirchimes and harp solos. When it was performed at various times at The Master’s College, it received many good comments, even from students who otherwise disliked handbell music. As the piece gradually and gently faded into silence, most audiences were completely silent for a short while afterwards, which was more rewarding than any applause could have been.
